Abstract

Trying to raise awareness on marine life’s wellbeing, The author dives back to how some musicians such as Vivaldi, Ravel, Takemitsu, Murray Schafer, and John Luther Adams have expressed their fascination with the ocean. Borrowing compositional techniques, aesthetics and ideas from these composers, the author creates a musical experience where the author combines various forms of music and theatre to direct the listener’s attention to the micro-plastic crisis the earth is facing while exploring and expanding the author’s composing, piano playing, and improvisation abilities.
