Hayne Kim, violin
Korean-American violinist Hayne Kim made her solo Carnegie Hall debut at the age of 16 and has since performed internationally as a soloist and chamber musician. She has been a soloist with the Lansing Symphony Orchestra in her native Michigan, as well as the Tusciafestival Orchestra in Viterbo, Italy. As an ensemble player, she has performed in some of New York City’s most beloved halls, such as Merkin Hall and Stern Auditorium, with NYC-based group Shattered Glass Ensemble and the International Chamber Soloists under the direction of Dmitri Berlinsky.
An ardent supporter of contemporary music, she takes a special interest in collaborating with living composers, and continues to be actively involved in premiering new works and participating in interdisciplinary performance projects. She is the violinist and co-founder of Círculo Trio, an ensemble dedicated to exploring and presenting new and/or underperformed works alongside standard repertoire.
Hayne holds degrees from the Manhattan School of Music, where she was the recipient of the Vice President’s Award, and Michigan State University. She has been trained under both the Galamian and Russian traditions of violin pedagogy by her teachers Lyman Bodman, Grigory Kalinovsky, and Dmitri Berlinsky. She joined the faculty of Princess Galyani Vadhana Institute of Music in July 2017.

Suppabhorn Suwanpakdee, viola
Originally from Ratchaburi province, Suppabhorn currently works as a faculty member of Princess Galyani Vadhana Institute of Music and project director of the PYO (Princess Galyani Vadhana Institute of Music Youth Orchestra). As a performer, he has explored other musical paths, such as experimental music. He is one of the founders of Ensemble Music Makers (EMM), a collective proposing novel approaches to performance, experimenting with the interpretation of many musical styles, from Western classical music to new contemporary compositions since 2014. His performance entitled “Reflection of Thais”, exploring the oral performative aspects of Thai traditional music was selected for the Bahrain summer festival in 2013 and has since been presented in Copenhagen and Vilnius. Furthermore, he has performed in several orchestras for the orchestral performance’s experiences, including Galyani Vadhana Orchestra, Thailand Philharmonic Orchestra, Bangkok Symphony Orchestra, Bangkok Pro Musica.
Suppabhorn studied violin and viola with Bangkok Pro Musica’s Artistic Director Assistant Professor Dr Tasana Nagavajara and Leo Phillips as an undergraduate student at Silpakorn University, where he was passionate about chamber music. After completing his Bachelor’s degree in music performance with the first-class honour (2008), he further developed his performance skills on the viola at Mahidol University as a master degree student. He took viola classes with the national artist Assistant Professor Choochart Pitaksakorn, Juris Madrevic and Vladislav Schumakov. He also had masterclasses with Professor Dr Juliet White Smith and Professor Loland Baldini (2011). Suppabhorn completed a Doctoral of Fine and Applied Arts in Music from Chulalongkorn University (2017), where he was granted a full Thai government scholarship. Apichai Chantanakajornfung, guitar
Apichai Chantanakajornfung sees music as a life long journey that takes a person to enjoy its beauty and to discover his/her own self. Invited to perform in several notable guitar festivals, he enjoys playing as soloist, in duo and especially in ensemble. In 2017, he was selected to share the concert at Elisabeth University in Hiroshima, Japan.
Apart from the concert activities, he has regularly served as a jury in various guitar competitions. Apichai began his first music lessons on piano, then continued on classical guitar and studied seriously with Mr. Woratep Rattana-umpawan. In 2008, he received a Bachelor of Fine Arts with first class honors from Chulalongkorn University under the guidance of Ms. Buppavan Theeravanvilai. Consequently, he earned a Master of Arts degree at the Music and Arts University of the City of Vienna where he studied guitar with Mr. Heinz Wallisch and Mr. Jorgos Panetsos. Presently, he acquired a Doctor of Fine Arts degree from Chulalongkorn University, Thailand and is currently teaching at Princess Galyani Vadhana Institute of Music.
