Princess Galyani Vadhana Institute of Music (PGVIM) continues to advance its mission of Academic Service to Society<\/strong> by deploying a group of student representatives to perform classical music in a string quartet<\/strong> formation as part of the event \u201cSCG Happy Sati Space (Gift Give Fest).\u201d<\/strong>
The event, a happiness and mindfulness marketplace aimed at fostering well-being and awareness, was held at the Main Hall of SCG Headquarters Buildings 1\u20132, Siam Cement Group Public Company Limited (SCG), Bang Sue, on 17\u201318 December 2025<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The SCG Happy Sati Space<\/strong> event this year was held under the theme \u201cGift (Give) Fest,\u201d<\/strong> a festival of giving. The event was collaboratively organized by the Mental Development for Well-being Club<\/strong>, Sati SPACE<\/strong>, and partner networks, with the aim of creating a space where organizational personnel could pause from their routines and reconnect with self-care.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The event featured a marketplace highlighting Thai organic lifestyle products and community-based goods under the concept \u201cConscious Living with Known Origins,\u201d<\/strong> sourced from networks of farmers and community enterprises (such as Hanada<\/strong> and Phu Jaemsai<\/strong>). It also promoted waste reduction and the use of environmentally friendly materials, in alignment with SCG\u2019s sustainability policies<\/strong>.
Recognizing the significance of music as a powerful medium, PGVIM emphasized the role of music<\/strong> in creating a relaxing atmosphere and enhancing the spiritual and emotional well-being of event participants.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

For this performance, PGVIM string quartet<\/strong>, creating an atmosphere in harmony with the event\u2019s theme and the year-end festive season welcoming the New Year. The students carefully curated a diverse repertoire, organized into several categories to engage audiences of all ages and backgrounds, as follows:

Royal Compositions <\/strong>
Performed in remembrance of His Majesty\u2019s musical genius and in tune with the cool December ambience, including \u201cStill on My Mind,\u201d \u201cLove in Spring,\u201d<\/em> and \u201cOh I Say.\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Festive and Christmas Selections:<\/strong>
Bright and joyful pieces celebrating the Christmas season, such as \u201cWinter Wonderland,\u201d \u201cLet It Snow! Let It Snow! Let It Snow!,\u201d \u201cThe Christmas Waltz,\u201d<\/em> and the charming tune \u201cAll I Want for Christmas Is My Two Front Teeth.\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Contemporary Thai and Luk Krung Songs:<\/strong>
Expressing warmth and nostalgia through string arrangements, highlighted by the song \u201cChan Ja Fan Thueng Thoe\u201d (I Will Dream of You).<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n

International Classics and Jazz Standards:<\/strong>
Creating a relaxed and uplifting atmosphere with pieces such as \u201cBlue Moon,\u201d \u201cOver the Rainbow,\u201d \u201cWhen I Grow Too Old to Dream,\u201d \u201cTheme from New York, New York,\u201d<\/em> and \u201cSiboney,\u201d<\/em> along with lively tango rhythms in \u201cTangos for String Ensemble.\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Classical Repertoire:<\/strong>
The timeless masterpiece \u201cCanon in D\u201d<\/em> by Johann Pachelbel<\/strong>, renowned for its calming effect and its ability to promote focus and tranquility.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Participation in this activity not only provided students with valuable opportunities to develop and refine their musical performance skills in real-world settings, but also reaffirmed the role PGVIM as a leading institution of higher music education.
