Additionally, percussionists have emerged as <strong>soloists<\/strong>, further expanding the role of percussion in both ensemble and solo performances.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In Thailand, there is a growing interest among <strong>students and young musicians<\/strong> in percussion, aligning with the rapid and continuous international development of this instrumental group. Globally, percussion has gained widespread recognition among <strong>performers, composers, and audiences<\/strong>, leading to an <strong>increasing number of compositions<\/strong> written specifically for percussion. These include:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>Academic pieces<\/strong> designed for music education<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Contemporary compositions<\/strong> exploring new soundscapes<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Drumline performances<\/strong>, which have gained popularity as a competitive and performance-based art form<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>The rise of <strong>international percussion competitions<\/strong> has further fueled the enthusiasm for percussion studies, attracting more students and professionals to this field.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>To support and enhance this growing community, the <strong>Princess Galyani Vadhana Institute of Music (PGVIM)<\/strong> has established the <strong>Thailand International Percussion Festival and Competition<\/strong>. This event provides a <strong>dynamic platform for students, faculty, alumni, and professional musicians<\/strong> to engage in high-level training, <strong>performance opportunities, and artistic exchange<\/strong>.
