Each step is designed to build upon the previous one, starting with a literature review of music and human development, followed by fieldwork in local history. The goal is to design musical activities consistent with the social context of music practice and to compose songs with participation. The project will audition children who will participate and ultimately present their work as a showcase entitled &#8220;Bang Yi Khan: Community, Music, Life&#8221;, performed by Bang Yi Khan Children&#8217;s Symphony. The project results will be analysed and synthesised to extract valuable lessons that can be shown on websites and at national conferences. Finally, a summary of the findings will aid in further community development.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-small-font-size\">Three target communities are in Bang Yi Khan, Bangkok, as follows: Wat Phraya Siri Aiya Sawan, Wat Dao Duengsaram, and Baan Poon. The participating children are residents in those communities who study at Wat Phraya Siri Aiya Sawan School, Wat Khruhabadi School, and Bang Yi Khan Witthayakhom School from the selection of youth in the study area.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-small-font-size\">From September to December 2023, there were 18 workshops in which the participants learnt how to sing and play musical instruments: violin, viola, cello, ukulele, and keyboard. The workshops were divided into three phases. The first phase covered the basics of playing musical instruments and singing, such as using correct gestures to hold and play musical instruments effectively. Young participants also engaged in rhythm and related musical activities, including participating in collaborative music composition through community exploration in the second phase. Rehearsing as an ensemble was the last phase. The outcome of these workshops was the creation of 10 original songs in different styles, such as rap, bossa nova, pop, luk thung, and funk.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-small-font-size\">According to the study results, working in participatory music can help develop musical skills, social skills, creativity, and a better understanding of the community.
