The pre-congress workshops focused on knowledge exchange and musical capacity building through lectures, hands-on practice, and performances. Topics spanned music education, culture, technology, and regional collaboration. Key workshops included:
1) Music Education in ASEAN Society
Explored challenges and opportunities in ASEAN music curriculum and cultural integration. (Led by Assoc. Prof. Dr. Narutt Suttachitt at Chulalongkorn University)

2) Diversity, Equity and Inclusion (DEI)
Addressed inclusive practices in higher music education with interactive group activities. (Led by Xiangning Lin at PGVIM)

3) Antique Piano
Combined lectures and live performances to explore historical pianos, in collaboration with Bangkok Piano Museum. (Facilitated by Laurens Patzlaff & Alberto Firrincieli)


4) Eurythmy Workshop
“Unfolding Music into Movement and Form”
Introduced Eurythmy as a tool for musicians to interpret music through movement, emphasizing music’s architecture and expression. (Led by Gabrielle Armenier)



5) Modular Synth Workshop
Hands-on exploration of modular synthesis, allowing participants to design unique soundscapes. (Led by Satapat Teeranitayapab & Pichsinee Pyth Noppichayathada)


6) Wind Band Workshop
A collaboration with Kasetsart University focusing on flexible ensemble skills, featuring traditional Thai melodies and immersive showcases.


7) Improvisation Workshop
Explored classical and contemporary improvisation with musicians from multiple institutions. Included live composition through “Sound Painting.” (Led by Timothy O’Dwyer)


8) ASEAN Music Experience & Beyond
A dialogue on Southeast Asia’s musical identity and heritage through multiple scholarly perspectives.



9) Pop Band Workshop
Training in popular music performance and music technology, culminating in a Big Band showcase blending modern instruments with string ensemble.
