Princess Galyani Vadhana Institute of Music (PGVIM) is honored to serve as the host of “The 5th Piano Friendship” a collaborative initiative designed to strengthen academic and artistic networks among piano faculty members and students from eight leading music institutions in Thailand.
Participating institutions include the Princess Galyani Vadhana Institute of Music, Chulalongkorn University, Kasetsart University, Mahidol University, Rangsit University, Silpakorn University, Srinakharinwirot University, and Assumption University.

This year’s program is presented under the special theme “Scandinavian Piano Literature,” offering participants an opportunity to explore the rich tradition of Scandinavian piano repertoire through perspectives that are both artistically profound and contemporary within the classical music context.
The event features intensive masterclasses and lectures by internationally renowned guest artists:
Prof. Sven Birch (Piano) — a Danish pianist and Head of the Keyboard Department at Anton Bruckner University (Austria), renowned for his expertise spanning repertoire from the Baroque era to contemporary music.
Prof. Ria Georgiadis (Flute) — a Greek-Austrian flutist specializing in musicians’ physiology, relaxation pedagogy, and mental training aimed at enhancing performance efficiency and sustainability.
The event concludes with the Piano Friendship Concert, a celebration of musical collaboration and friendship, showcasing the talents of students from all eight partner institutions while inspiring audiences through the power and artistry of classical music.
