PGMF 2026: “Mozart and Beyond”

PGMF 2026, presented under the theme “Mozart and Beyond,” celebrated the 270th anniversary of Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart’s birth by inviting audiences to rediscover the renowned composer through contemporary perspectives that resonate with today’s world. More than a music festival, this year’s edition served as a platform for reflection, interpretation, and dialogue, encouraging audiences to engage with Mozart’s legacy in new and meaningful ways. The festival’s distinctive identity was brought to life through striking Key Visuals designed by Phayanchana, which became a memorable representation of the spirit and vision of PGMF 2026.

One of the festival’s highlights was the Call for Artists initiative, which provided emerging artists with an opportunity to showcase both their creative ideas and musical excellence. Beginning with the Pitching Ideas session on 25 March 2026 and continuing through the Showcase performances on 23 April 2026 at Sangita Vadhana Hall, the program culminated in the selection of outstanding projects for inclusion in the festival’s main programme. Alongside this, the Business Model Ideation Academy: Global Music Pathway, held from 24–29 May 2026, offered valuable guidance in music entrepreneurship, branding, and sustainable career development, empowering artists to build stronger and more sustainable futures in the music profession.

The festival concluded with the Resident Artist Concerts: Six Encounters, presented from 27–30 May 2026 in collaboration with Musique de la Vie and Sun to Sun, who created a series of exclusive beverages inspired by each of the six concerts. The programme brought together internationally acclaimed artists Bernard Lanskey from Australia, Xiaoming Han and Ray Zhang from Shanghai, alongside faculty members from PGVIM and distinguished Thai musicians. The festival also featured Muralist Ensemble, the artists behind Mozart in Red, featuring the return of a young artist selected through the Call for Artists programme to perform on the festival’s main stage. Together, these performances reaffirmed that Mozart is far more than a historical figure. His music continues to inspire new interpretations, creative exploration, and artistic dialogue across generations.
