The closing concert of Season 13 by the Princess Galyani Vadhana Institute of Music Youth Orchestra concluded on a truly memorable note with “The Symphony of Silk: Threads of Grace,” a special collaboration between the Princess Galyani Vadhana Institute of Music and the Council of University Presidents of Thailand. Held on 10 April 2026 at Sangita Vadhana Hall, Princess Galyani Vadhana Institute of Music, the concert marked an important artistic partnership between the Princess Galyani Vadhana Institute of Music Youth Orchestra (PYO) and student representatives from the Council of University Presidents of Thailand (CUPT) member universities across the country, in celebration of the 55th anniversary of the Council of University Presidents of Thailand.
Inspired by the royal vision of Her Majesty Queen Sirikit The Queen Mother and the SUPPORT Foundation, the concert drew a poetic parallel between orchestral performance and the intricate weaving of Thai silk. Each musical phrase was delicately interlaced, creating a rich and elegant tapestry of sound.

The evening was led by conductor Lien Boon Hua, One of the highlights was Mozart: Sinfonia Concertante for Four Winds and Orchestra, performed with distinguished soloists and esteemed faculty members, including:
– Yiu Song Lam (Oboe) from Hong Kong Academy for Performing Arts (HKAPA),
– Dr. Tawanrat Mewongukote (Clarinet)
– Dr. Komsun Dilokkunanant (Horn)
– Thanawat Ngosawang (Bassoon)

One was “Weaving the Threads of Life” by Tippawan Santhisiri, winner of the Call for Scores 2026 programme.
The other was “A Fulfilled Dream,” a newly commissioned work composed especially for this occasion by Professor Dr. Somrerk Chandra-ambhorn and Assistant Professor Dr. Anothai Nitibhon, arranged by Aphudom Kasemsathitsathaphorn. The piece reflected perseverance, educational ideals, and the unity of Thailand’s higher education network.

More than a concert, the evening embodied the philosophy of the Princess Galyani Vadhana Institute of Music Youth Orchestra, “Explore, Exchange, Excel.” Through the coming together of young musicians from the Princess Galyani Vadhana Institute of Music Youth Orchestra and students from universities within the Council of University Presidents of Thailand network, the performance became a celebration of artistic collaboration, musical excellence, and shared vision. It was a powerful and fitting finale to Season 13, leaving lasting memories for all who attended.
